Universal Studios

 Universal Studios was a blast! we had a perfect day and great experience

weather was nice; we were all comfortable, midweek-no lineups; rides were fun; we saw/did everything we wanted to;.. I could go on!.. it was just such a fun day!! Nice to share it with Jordan and Harley.

 

That's a wrap! Took a breather and spent the evening walking around sunset boulevard and Hollywood stars

Santa Ana/ Huntington

Santa Ana is a city just south of LA. Like Toronto and area, these cities were all connected and just sort of merged together.

We really lucked out on our accommodation. Ashton found us a NICE hotel with a pool and free breakfast for the price of some of the shady motels we have stayed in. Here its location location location. A disgusting motel in Santa Monica might be similar to a great hotel further away from the action. But with our wheels we can stay further away from attractions.

 

Anyways Ashton and I relaxed for a day while awaiting Jordan and Harley (to arrive at 10 pm).

Laguana Beach! I was pretty nervous walking around thinking we'd see a celebrity. .. what if I rounded  the corner of the market and ran into a celebrity? what would I say?.. sadly.... we never saw a celebrity.

 

We bought a 10 L jug of water and drank it all. Later Ashton refilled and recapped it. Ashton put it in the truck and the next day we noticed my hat in the back of the car was wet. After looking around, Ashton discovered the cap had come off and all 10 L had spilled in the trunk! he found a drain and was able to get the majority out of the trunk! .. otherwise a trip to Walmart to buy a car freshener was need for our musty smelling car.

Adventures with Tyson and Abra

We left the National Park at 8;30 am, and stopped along the way for coffee, gas and TRAFFIC! geesh...
Before we left for California we knew that Tyson and Abra would be in Palm springs for a few days at the condo. Originally it didn't work to meet up but throughout the trip our plans changed and we were going to be an hour and a half away from each other.

SO Tyson and Abra drove on over to the coast to meet up with us. All of us rolled into the hotel meeting spot around 2.

Tys and Abra had rented a yellow Camaro and so we hopped in and had a wild ride down to Huntington Beach. Despite the weaving in and out of traffic, Tyson got us there safely ;)

Being a Saturday there were hoards of people- ALL Kinds of kinds! people watching in itself was amusing. It was a beauty day and we spent some time on the beach.

Supper time we found a great patio behind the main strip which was quiet and delicious. Mango fish tacos that us gals had were delish!

Over supper the boys bought last minute tickets to the LA Angeles vs Toronto Blue Jay baseball game which was at the Angel Stadium near by.

We showed up fashionably late, but that's alright when you buy the cheap tickets. $12 US per ticket

The atmosphere was awesome! lots of LA fans and occasional blue fans. Our seats were just fine and the beers were cold. Super cool experience.

After the game were Saturday night special Fireworks!! followed by a movie on the big screen.

After the game we went down to feel and smell the stadium REAL grass!

That's a wrap! A fun day together in California!!

Tys and Abra dropped us off and had a couple night cappers before driving back to the condo.


The next day we were pretty tired and ready to completely Veg.

I caught up on blogs while Ashton researched. We took breaks and hung out in the hottub. Then ventured out to Laguana beach. Sadly did not spot any celebrities, instead relaxed; read; ate from the deli and people watched while enjoying the warmth.

It turned overcast so we came back to the hotel for taco bell and tv. The taco bell was DELISH!
